Organized Women

Organized Women (OW)  program works to empower, promote, and build community among Boston’s amazing women. We are a multifaceted group of active, engaged citizens, including business owners, nonprofit leaders, artists, students, mothers, and friends.

At Boston GLOW, our goal is to foster an environment where the voices of women and girls are heard, talents are appreciated and women support one another in striving for their own success.

Our Organized Women program works to empower, promote, and build community among Boston’s amazing women. We are a multifaceted group of active, engaged citizens, including business owners, nonprofit leaders, artists, students, mothers, and friends.

We hope to build a community that supports our Girl Leaders and one another through monthly events, conferences, and sharing opportunities.

Programs

Spitfire is the signature networking event of Boston GLOW’s Organized Women (OW) division. The Spitfire series grew out of our desire to build a strong and supportive community of women in the Boston area. Spitfire events aim to bring together women from a cross-section of industries and passions to mix, mingle, and make things happen.

For each Spitfire we pick a topic that we think women will find useful, enlightening, and fun, and build each evening around that theme. Sometimes we’ll have a dynamic guest speaker, other times we’ll participate in a round table discussion or screen a thought-provoking film.

Apply today to support of Girl Leaders as a 2017-2018 SPARKS Team Leader

SPARKS is a  cross-generational experiential and community service learning program that provides spaces for women and girls to connect and provide mutual support as we strive to become better informed global citizens and community leaders.
We are currently seeking women (We use an inclusive definition of female and welcome trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people.) to participate as SPARKS Team Leaders.
Each Team Leader is responsible for supporting a group of 3-5 Girl Leaders during SPARKS programming once a month from October – May.  Team Leaders work alongside the Girl Leaders in service and experiential learning.  SPARKS Team Leaders provide support, mentorship, and lead the Girl Leaders in small group reflections on community leadership.

Upon completion of the 8 month service and experiential learning program, Team Leaders will support the Girl Leaders in identifying a community issue and proposing an actionable community change project for our IGNITE Change contest.

SPARKS Programming occurs once a month on a Saturday afternoon or Thursday evening (tentative calendar is below).
